[No longer posted to China] Free request on the official website
Since 30 October 2025, giffgaff has stopped posting physical SIMs to China. Requesting an eSIM directly in the official app is not affected.
- Pros: it is free;
- Cons: a direct request earns no bonus (unless you use someone's invitation link); it comes by international standard post, which is slow (sometimes two or three months), easily lost, and cannot be tracked;
Notes:
Both the physical giffgaff SIM and the eSIM can be requested directly on the website or in the app, but there is no £5 bonus unless you request it through an invitation link;
If you need one, you can use my invitation link. After activating with a £10 top-up you get £5 of bonus credit, that is, top up £10 and get £5.
